Cairo Bank Uganda Limited is a financial service provider licensed by the Central Bank of Uganda, focusing on serving Small and Medium Enterprises  (SMEs).

Cairo Bank Uganda is a wholly owned subsidiary of Banque du Caire at 99.9% of the shares. 0.1% of the shares are under the sitting Managing Director, Mr. Ahmad Maher.

Effective 1st September 2020, Cairo International Bank rebranded to Cairo Bank Uganda Limited.  The change in name came with a brand new logo, a change in colors and a revised brand promise “Growing with you”.  This is a culmination of a process that started in 2019 when our shareholder Banque Du Caire (BDC) acquired 100% shareholding in the Bank.

The change means the Bank is now positioned to leverage on a strong shareholder relationship being part of a larger group with a strong presence, supporting customers by opening their doors to endless opportunities and as well continue being a key player in the Ugandan economy with a renewed brand promise of “Growing with you”.

Our customers can look forward to a new, refreshed banking experience with us which will include a wide range of products and improved services. With our new brand promise of “growing with you”, our customers can count on us a reliable partner who is here to open doors for endless opportunities and support them through their growth journey.

The Bank plays and will continue to play a critical role in supporting the lifeblood of our economy which is in line with her strategic intent of being the Preferred Small and Medium Enterprise Bank in Uganda.

Cairo Bank Uganda Limited was incorporated on 11th July, 1994.  The Bank was formerly known as Cairo International Bank owned by the three leading Egyptian Banks namely; Banque Du Caire, Bank Misr and National Bank of Egypt.

In 2019, it became a fully owned subsidiary of Banque Du Caire (BDC). The shareholder consolidation in 2019 was on the back of expanding its presence across Africa whilst providing an entry point into the COMESA market.

The Bank embarked on a transformation journey that started in 2019 with shareholders committing to a phased capital plan.
